Cellular

Yeah.. yesterday I had a cellular day... the first half of the day.. had first test of Mobile Telecom Network, my elective. It was ... guss... forget it. The other cellular component on the day.... Cellular the movie. A really nice hollywood flick. I dont know the cast. But found the plot quite interesting. Nice action. Though in the end... somewhere felt it was more of an advertisementof Nokia 6600. K.. brief description of the story.. a girl was kidnapped and kept in a room, which had a telephone... shattered to pieces by the kidnappers. But still. the girl manages to somehow dial a number, gets connected to a guy... pleads him for help. Story moves on and the guy helps her and her family to get out of hands of the kidnappers. Remember.. most of the time they remain connected... scenes involves the guy robbing a shop just for a charger.. and cross connection and call transferring onto some other number... though they manage to remain connected. But alas.. the girl was married, had a kid, so we missed the kissing scene in the end. This was a pretty good flick and came as a relief for we dint get to see a decent one in the audi in recent past. The previous one, 'Aap ki Khatir', which I missed for obvious reasons. And yes.. yesterday's flick was also preceded by a 'jan hit mein jaari' /*issued in public interest*/ documentary. But alas... today none of us was able to understand what was the 'hit' /*interest*/ of the junta /*public*/. I just remember it had a few clips of Mahatma gandhi... dandi march and all. Nothing much interesting today apart from the cellular thing.. so .. c ya later PS : FIND OF THE DAY : A legal kiss is never worth a stolen one.

Looooong Weekend

I really cant believe that I am blogging from hostel room.

I really wished to post on sunday... just wished to share the experience of my first morning walk in BITS. That was my first morning walk in around past 1280 days.. that's 3.5 yrs. But this one was quite different... defying the usual belief that one need to get up early for a morning walk.. we... four people.. me, gautam, karan and sumit... went for the morning walk after a night out. And the night... I have lotsa stuff there also to share.

Weekend began with quite unexpected things... hey.. first lemme define my weekend, its from saturday afternoon to monday evening. So, it started with me sleeping for over four hours, roughly 1500hrs to 1900 hrs, n mind it... I prefer night sleep only. Then as I got up... still half asleep, one fellow calls up

Mohit : Rishi, you coming for dumbcharades na...

Me : Coming for dumbcharades??? What do you mean?? Rishi aur dumbcharades competition??? What a combination!!!

Mohit : Hey, you promised to Mayank that you are coming

Me : When did I??? I just told him that HAS is organising dumbC competition this weekend

Mohit : You are comin.. we three are team.... get your dinner fast and come to my room... no further arguements

Well I am still not able to figure out whether I 'promised' or not, but I found that competition bit more interesting that sitting on net with the ultra fast speed we get here in our rooms. I am not such a bad dumbC player... and my point strenghtened further as after 3 rounds our team was leading. But thanks to the organisers.... we missed it by 3 points coz of there carelessness. Obviously they were not going to rectify.After a great start but not so great ending in the competition... I left disheartened... went straight to IPC ( read computer labs... where we can access net). But crap... that day net speed there was even 'faster' that what we get in our rooms. Was just hopping from one system to another... hopin to get some system with a lil' slower speed.... Phone rang again

Karan : Where are you??

Me : IPC

Karan : Mafia tonight???

Me : Done, I am coming to your wing.

Hangs up

Again hopes rose for a better evening after a phone call. Btw, dont get confused.. lemme clarify. time was around 2300hrs. Then as usual.. it took some sincere efforts for the interested people to bring the uninterested ones in our category. After a short visit to ANC(all nigt canteen), we were in front of SAC (Student Activity Centre)... making our debut of the venue with mafia. Had a really nice session...

Decided to go back around 0330 hrs... but took its over 30 mins to achieve this task. FIND OF THE WEEKEND : I am still afraid of street dogs. Well, actually, I had a few more friends in my gang. Four of us... changed our route many a times to avoid those street dogs who were just trying to be friendly with us. Hey, this time... no literary device used... those creatures were nice to us... but we dint accept them followin us... we dint approve there effort to make physical contact with us. Still we dint shooo them away.. reason... heard the other gang of dogs barkin far off.. dint wish to loose our gang members... Some how managed to get away.. though this somehow does include four of us runnig like anything after heard a few of those creatures barking on each other.

Reached the room... relaxed ourselves with some laucha ( laughing and chatting). Then I deciced to sleep only after takin breakfast in the mess. By 0530 hrs.. only four of us left... decided to go on our maiden morning walk in BITS. I really enjoyed those 75 mins of walk. That does included sitting in ShivGanga for over 30-35 mins. Took breakfast at 0730 hrs. Then dint feel like sleeping.. that time I really wished I could post something... basically this all only.But I was kept waiting for over 66 hrs... its 0227 hrs, 27th sep, wednesday.. right now.

Nothing much eventful in the later part of the weelend.. sunday night was reserved for mobile telecommunication network.. my elective... got its test-1 tomorroow.. that's 28th... and physics practical today only.. just 8 and a half hours to go.In short... its been a long post... I better go to sleep now.

FIND OF THE DAY : Multitasking means screwing up many things at once.

Surprise.... another post... quite early na.

Thank you God.. for the page... you opened for me. Its been half an hour since I am waiting this page to get opened. Hot thing in BITS.. BOSM -> BITS Open Sports Meet. Today is the second last day for this five day long event...lots of outstees.. lots of sports.. even I watched a baski match, well that was BITS girls v/s MNIT, Jaipur Girls; for obviuos reasons. But that was not able to attract my attention was more than 15 minutes. Then saw a badi match. This all was day before yesterday. Since then, never wished to be a spectator to those great skilled players. Watched 'The Break-up' the other day. Only thing I liked watching was Jenifer Aniston... And yesterday, for the first time in BITS audi I saw a 'jan hit mein jaari' advertisement on malaria. And after watching that clip for about 10 mins, it was a bit disappointing to see the movie in smaller print, dunno the reason. But I think today I covered up, watched 'Lage raho munna bhai' on gautam's lapT. I dunno whether this was good or bad, the movie got over within 2 hrs, that's coz the print was shot in a cinema.. the video and audio quality were fine though, but a few scenes were missing. I guess now I am blogging quite frequently, so this much must be enough for today. FIND OF THE DAY : Good judgment comes from bad experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Centi-Li mein MAFIA

Surprisingly... my second post within span of 48 hours. Just one of the is BITSian slang used in the title... so lemme first expand it for you. Cent-Li -> Central Library. In case you dunno hindi, 'mein' -> in. And MAFIA... that's the main thing. I dun think you read my earlier posts, so I guess I must not use references from my previous posts. Mafia... a really great mind game, though most of the time we avoid using it. It was the game which kept us awake till 0500 hrs a day before Vibes /* and as expected we got up late on the D-Day *reference - CAPITOL and VIBES rocked */. And also after the show, after dinner with the assoc people, we were really tired... havnt slept well for past one week, still we went to Centi-Li lawns with our wingies, this time had session till 0430 hrs. Went again yesterday night, but this time the choki... that's watchman... he was really pissed off with us. Howling and shouting while accusing each other in the course of the game... he gave up and asked us to move out. That was really disappointing. Before Centi-Li lawns, we were once been forced out of T-lawns... that's Temple lawns by the choki there. And actually its a bit risky in T-Lawns, Temple is quite close to our bhawan... once had a narrow escape from our warden. Lets see where we continue Mafia... But lemme once again state the fact... MAFIA rocks. And yeah.. finally got the APOGEE certs yesterday evening. I felt really great as it had 'Free Space Optics' as project written on it. Now I guess I would prefer orkutting over writting anything further... hope to get the next post soon... FIND OF THE DAY : The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

CAPITOL and VIBES rocked

I just hope that I dun face any problem posting this time. Last friday I also wrote a post, but when I tried to click on publish post, then only I realised that the page opened with errors. The button 'Publish Post' was not there. It is really frustruating, these google sites, just cant get what's the problem with them. Gautam surrendered to it, he started a blog on wordpress. Its impossible to access blogger or orkut or gmail from the hostel rooms. But today, finally I am able to spare some time to come to IPC lab and add something more to my not so lively blog. Well, yes, I do have something to write this time. This sunday, we had 'Vibes', a cultural night by Capitol. I know I need to explain the terminology used. Here in BITS, we have regional associations. I am member of Capitol, an association of Delhites in BITS. So, this sunday we had a cultural night, presented by Capitolites to all the BITSian junta. It had all, songs, dances, mime, fash-p. I participated in dance. Well, I am not that a good dancer, but not even that bad. We prepared for the event for about a fortnight. Surprising, but we did worked pretty hard for it. And the results were better than expectations. Such shows can quite easily be ruined by the audience, but the audience did respect us for we did gave them more than their expectations. It was really a big hit. I guess, for past few posts I forgot to mention whether the post was a hit or miss, mostly coz, the content dint allowed me to classify. But for this one, HIT certificate has been issued. Well, did I said certificates... two days back, I recieved a mail... "Hi all U all might be waiting for certificaes of last apogee. Tommorow i.e.12th September u will be given certificates by our Instrumnetation prof.sGurunarayan sir, Surekha mam. So, make sure that u all present for this certificate distribution. Date - 12/09/06 Time - 5:00 pm Venue - 2206 Hari Bharath Molabanti, Coordinator,Instrumentation Forum." I was quite happy, after wait of ovet six month, I would be getting my first cert from BITS. But a few hours back.. "Hi all, i am sorry to inform you that the distribution session of certificateshas been cancelled.and i will inform you the date later. co-ordinator, instrumentation forum HARIBHARATH MOLABANTI. " Lets see for how long from now I will have to wait. Pretty long post na... well now I dun have much to say... so lemme end this with...
